AF3P Bonnie Glo
Part Number: AF3P Bonnie Glo
Only ships via motor freight
The Bonnie Glo line of kilns is specifically designed for artists who need to fire multiple times per day–especially busy teachers and studios. These kilns are perfect for those with daytime jobs—you can begin a firing session after work, have it complete by bedtime, and let it cool overnight!
Made with rigid fiber materials, Jen-Ken Bonnie Glo kilns are pure insulation. Unlike traditional brick-body kilns that absorb a great deal of heat, these fiber kilns don’t absorb heat, ensuring that only the glass heats up. Without the brick body and clay shelves, these kilns are able to fire quickly to fuse temperatures and cool down rapidly, allowing for 2-3 firings in a single day.
With no need for shelves, you can simply apply kiln wash to the kiln floor and fuse directly on fiber shelf paper. For added flexibility, an optional fiber shelf can sit directly on the kiln floor—just be sure to use kiln wash and fiber shelf paper each time. Fiber shelves cannot use shelf posts.
Equipped with the renowned Orton Digital 3-key controller (AF4X) as standard, precise temperature control ensures optimal firing conditions for every project. This controller comes with preloaded fiber-firing schedules that are much quicker than brick kiln schedules as well as 25 blank user programs. With the option to upgrade to the Orton AutoFire 4000 12-button controller, AutoFire Slide or the TAP II Touchscreen Controller, you’ll gain even more features and ease of programming.
Experience unparalleled speed and efficiency with the original Bonnie Glo, a unique, lightweight (25lbs), all-fiber kiln, meticulously crafted to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
This kiln is named in honor of the late Bonnie Glotfelty, mother of Mike and Randy–owners of Jen-Ken Kilns. Bonnie was a cornerstone in the fired arts industry since the late 1960s. Her dedication, support, and guidance have been invaluable to Jen-Ken Kilns. We deeply appreciate her contributions and enjoyed her cheerful presence in the workplace, where she often checked in on us just to make sure we made it into the office and joined us for lunch. Bonnie's remarkable legacy and unwavering commitment make her truly deserving of a kiln named in her honor.
